Temporary One-Way Traffic Pattern Along a Portion of Banyan Drive to Accommodate Mass Participants Attending “Hilo’s Hokule’a Ho’olaulea” Event

There will be a temporary one-way traffic pattern along a portion of Banyan Drive to accommodate mass participants attending “Hilo’s Hokule’a Ho’olaulea” event at the Wailoa Small Boat Harbor and a portion of Lihiwai Street on Saturday, May 24, 2025.

Traffic will be able to flow in the makai, or northerly, direction on Banyan Drive between the intersections of Lihiwai Street/Banyan Drive (near Suisan) and Banyan Drive/Lihiwai Street (near Hilo Hawaiian Hotel).

The one-way traffic pattern will be in effect between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

During these times, the south bound lane on Banyan Drive adjacent to Lili’uokalani Gardens will be closed to through traffic.

The traffic pattern on Lihiwai Street particularly from Moku Ola will remain the same.
