Second Annual HI-PAL Keiki Fun Run/Walk in Kona This Saturday

The Hawaiʻi Police Department Kona Community Policing Section, in partnership with PATH, will host its second annual HI-PAL Keiki Fun Run/Walk in Kona on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the Old Airport Recreation Area.
The family-friendly event encourages keiki to stay active while enjoying the outdoors alongside friends, family members, and the community. Check-in begins at 7:30 a.m., and the event will start at 8 a.m. near the Makaʻeo Path.
Participants will be grouped by age, with a 200-yard dash for children ages 5 to 8 (family members may accompany young runners), a half-mile course for ages 9 to 12, and a one-mile course for ages 13 to 17. Refreshments and snacks will be provided following the races.
To help ensure a smooth check-in process, participants are encouraged to complete the event waiver form in advance by scanning the event QR code.

Those who prefer a fillable copy may request one by emailing Officer Leonard Warren at leonard.warren@hawaiipolice.gov and bringing the completed form on the day of the event.
