Hawai‘i Island police invite the public to a free Keiki ID event on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Hilo Public Library, 300 Waianuenue Ave.

Hosted by Hawai‘i Police Department’s Hilo Community Policing Section, the event provides parents and guardians with the opportunity to obtain identification cards for their children. The Keiki ID card includes the child’s photograph, fingerprint, and other vital information that may assist police in the event of an emergency.

This event marks the beginning of a partnership between the Hawai‘i Police Department and the Hilo Public Library to host semi-regular Keiki ID opportunities for families who may have missed previous events.

The department encourages families to attend and take advantage of this free service.
