Police Seeking Puna Runaway Johnessa Elkin-Kanae

Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 14-year-old Johnessa Elkin-Kanae, who was reported as a runaway.

Elkin-Kanae was last seen in the Ainaloa area on Monday, Jan. 19, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., wearing a black t-shirt and denim shorts.

She is described as Hawaiian with a light tan complexion, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 125 pounds, with long, wavy-brown hair with red streaks and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone who may have information on Elkin-Kanae’s whereabouts to please contact the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.
