12-year-old Selah Matthews who was reported as a runaway.

Hawai‘i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 12-year-old Selah Matthews who was reported as a runaway.

She was last seen in the 400 block of Kehaulani Street in Hilo on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, around 6:30 a.m., wearing a dark-colored sweater, blue jean pants, and a tan-colored backpack.

She is described as local with a medium complexion and thin build, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, 90 pounds, with long, dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on her whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
