Police Seeking Endangered Hilo Runaway Kymahni Mata

Hawai’i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 13-year-old Kymahni Mata, who was reported as a runaway. Due to his age, Mata is considered endangered.
Mata was last seen leaving a residence within the 300 block of Desha Avenue in the Keaukaha area of Hilo on Monday, April 27, 2026, wearing a Hilo Intermediate School shirt, black shorts, and unknown footwear.
He is described as being local / Hawaiian with a medium complexion, 5 feet and 1 inch tall, weighing 98 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.
