Police Request Public’s Assistance in Identifying Witnesses to Kailua-Kona Incident

Hawai‘i Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying witnesses to an incident that occurred in the Kailua-Kona area.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, November 27, 2025, police responded to a report of a severely injured and unconscious woman found in the area of Keauhou Bay. The victim was transported to Kona Community Hospital and treated for serious injuries.

A 24-year-old male, identified as Beka Dribo, was located nearby and arrested at the scene for suspected Abuse of a Family or Household Member.

On November 28, 2025, Dribo was charged by detectives from the Area II Juvenile Aid Section with the following offenses:

Assault in the First Degree (Class B felony)

Assault in the Second Degree (Class C felony)

Abuse of a Family or Household Member (Misdemeanor)

His total bail was set at $25,000.

Police ask that any individuals who witnessed the incident, interacted with Dribo or the victim on the evening of November 26 or during the early morning hours of November 27, 2025, or may have information relevant to this case, please contact Detective Carrie Akina at 808-326-4646, Extension 278, or via email at carrie.akina@hawaiipolice.gov.
