Police Investigating Livestock Deaths on Pāhoa Ranch

Hawai‘i Island police are investigating an incident in which more than 20 sheep were killed on a 200-acre ranch in the 15-2000 block of the Government Beach Road in Pāhoa sometime between Friday, October 3, and Monday, October 6, 2025.

Police investigators discovered what appeared to be dog bite marks on the slaughtered sheep. The property is fenced and the sheep are kept in an area where hunting or trespassing is strictly prohibited.

The sheep were valued at $2,500, a significant loss to the rancher and his business.
