Police Arrest Teen for Terroristic Threatening Incident at Konawaena High School
Hawai‘i Island police have initiated a first-degree terroristic threatening investigation after a Konawaena High School student allegedly threatened to shoot three fellow students on campus.
On Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 5:29 p.m., Kona patrol officers responded to Konawaena High School after a school administrator reported receiving an email from a student who was not involved in the incident, warning the school of the alleged threat.
Officers conducted follow-up interviews with witnesses who reported being present when the threat was made. The alleged statement reportedly occurred during school hours on Friday, September 26, 2025.
Later that evening, at 11:45 p.m., police arrested a 14-year-old Ocean View girl for first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class C felony. She was subsequently released pending further investigation. Due to her status as a minor, her name will not be released.
The case has been turned over to detectives with the Area II Juvenile Aid Section, who are continuing the investigation.
