Police Arrest, Charge Two Mountain View Men on Drug and Firearm Offenses

Hawaiʻi Island police have arrested and charged two Mountain View men with multiple drug and firearm offenses following a joint narcotics investigation with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI).

On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, detectives with the Hawaiʻi Police Department’s Vice Division and HSI, simultaneously executed search warrants at two adjacent residences in the Fern Acres subdivision. The operation resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine and multiple firearms.

At the residence of 49-year-old Shane Dacuycuy, detectives recovered more than 40 grams of methamphetamine and one loaded firearm. At the residence of 59-year-old Raymond Adrian, detectives recovered more than 60 grams of methamphetamine and two firearms, one of which was loaded. The combined methamphetamine totaled nearly a quarter pound of illicit narcotic with a street value of roughly $3,000.

After conferring with the Hawaiʻi County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Vice East detectives charged Dacuycuy with the following offenses:

• Two counts of first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug
• Three counts of ownership or possession prohibited

Dacuycuy’s total bail was set at $350,000.

After conferring with the Hawaiʻi County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Vice detectives charged Adrian with the following offenses:

• Two counts of first-degree promotion of a dangerous drug
• Third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug
• Three counts of ownership or possession prohibited
• Possession of a firearm in furtherance of the commission of a drug felony

Adrian’s total bail was set at $630,000.

Both Dacuycuy and Adrian made their initial appearances in South Hilo District Court on Monday afternoon, July 27.
