Officer Kiley Loo Honored as HISSPA Officer of the Quarter for Q3 2025

South Kohala patrol officer Kiley Loo was named Officer of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2025 by the Hawai‘i Island Safety and Security Professionals Association (HISSPA during a ceremony on Friday, October 10 in South Kohala.
Officer Loo issued 312 traffic citations during the quarter, significantly contributing to roadway safety and enforcement efforts in the South Kohala District. He was also responsible for half of the DUI arrests on his watch, reflecting his proactive approach to preventing impaired driving. In addition to traffic enforcement, Officer Loo investigated 281 incidents, demonstrating strong case management skills and a sustained commitment to serving the community.
Beyond his patrol duties, Officer Loo serves as the Field Training Coordinator for the South Kohala District, where he plays a key role in preparing and mentoring new officers. His efforts help ensure incoming officers uphold the department’s standards of professionalism and integrity.
“We appreciate Officer Loo for his dedication to roadway safety and his commitment to the FTO program,” said South Kohala District Captain Roylen Valera. “We also want to remind motorists to plan extra time for travel, especially during the busy holiday season when people are shopping, attending gatherings, and visiting loved ones. Roadway safety is everyone’s responsibility, please don’t let friends or family drive intoxicated.”
