Kona HIPAL Holding Community Cleanup and Fun Day December 28 in Hōnaunau
The Hawaiʻi Police Department’s Kona Community Policing Section and the Hawaiʻi Isle Police Activities League (HIPAL) are proud to partner with Miss Orchid Isle Teen, Diamond Kawaauhau, for a community clean up and fun day in South Kona.
The event will take place on Sunday, December 28, 2025, beginning with check-in at 8:00 a.m. and a community cleanup from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. along the culturally significant Ke Ala o Keawe Road near the Hōnaunau Rodeo Arena. Following the cleanup, participants are invited to enjoy entertainment and a light lunch at noon at the Hōnaunau Rodeo Arena, with festivities concluding at 3:00 p.m.
Entertainment will feature performances by the 2025 HIPAL Youth Music Showcase winners, Nā Leo Kū, and young rising musical artist London West, recognized as the best performance winner for his age group.
The event offers an opportunity to learn, connect, and strengthen community bonds through shared service and celebration.
“This is more than just a cleanup,” said Officer Leonard Warren of the Kona Community Policing Section. “It’s a chance for the community to come together, make a difference, and celebrate the spirit of aloha.”
The event also qualifies for community service hours, making it a great opportunity for students, pageant participants, and others seeking service credit.
