Hilo Police Seek Information on Robbery Suspect

Hawaii Island police are asking for the public’s assistance regarding a robbery that occurred on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at approximately 3:31 p.m., at a grocery store on Puainako Street in Hilo.

A female employee reported that an unidentified male suspect placed the item in his pants waistband and proceeded to the exit without paying. The female employee was shoved down by the male suspect after confronting him. The male suspect then left the area on a bicycle. Video surveillance captured the male suspect and is being released to the public for identification purposes.

Police ask anyone who may know the identity of the unidentified male suspect or has information regarding the incident to contact the Hawaii Police Department non-emergency number at (808) 935-3311.
