The Kona Community Policing Section and HI-PAL (Hawai‘i Police Activities League), in collaboration with the Keauhou Shopping Center, will host a Kona HI-PAL Keiki Easter Egg Decorating Contest on Thursday, April 2, 2026, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. in the center events courtyard.

Keiki ages 17 and under are encouraged to sign up and participate in this enjoyable, family-friendly event. Participants will have the opportunity to decorate eggs using a variety of creative materials and showcase their artistic talents. Prizes may be awarded for the most creative designs.

In addition to the contest, officers will offer free Keiki ID for parents and guardians who would like identification for their children.

Families are invited to come out, enjoy an afternoon of creativity while spending time with members of the Kona Community Policing section and the community.

HI-PAL is a Hawai‘i Police Department program in which police officers interact with youth in various activities and act as mentors. These positive connections help encourage teamwork, citizenship, responsibility, and builds trust between youth and law enforcement.
