Youth Car Show in Hilo Rescheduled for October

The Hawaii Police Department’s Hilo Community Policing Section announces that the Hawaiʻi Police Activities League’s (HI-PAL) free Youth Car Show originally planned for August 15, 2026, has been rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, at the Hilo Drag Strip, due to the incoming storm.

Youth ages 17 and younger can still sign up to enter a vehicle in the show. Whether it’s a restoration project completed with family members, a first project vehicle, or a vehicle they are especially proud of, participants are encouraged to register and share their accomplishments with the community.

Awards will be presented in the following categories:

• Imports
• Classics
• Trucks
• Other

The Youth Car Show provides young people with an opportunity to display their vehicles, meet others who share an interest in automobiles, and compete for awards in a positive environment.
