4th Annual Kona HI-PAL Canoe Regatta

Hawai‘i Police Department’s Kona Community Policing Section in collaboration with the Hawai‘i Island Police Activities League (HI-PAL) is teaming up with Kai’ Opua Canoe Club and Kai ‘Ehitu Canoe Club for the fourth annual HI-PAL Outrigger Canoe Regatta in Kona on Saturday, April 11, 2026.
Keiki age 12 to 18 and clubs are encouraged to sign up now to participate in the HI-PAL regatta, which will feature 14 different events. It’s a fun opportunity for keiki to paddle with their club teammates, high school teammates, or their friends that may paddle for a different club or high school.
Here’s the HI-PAL Canoe Regatta schedule:
- Location: Kailua Pier, 75-5664 Ka‘ahumanu Place, Kailua-Kona
- Check-in: 7:00 a.m.
- Opening Ceremony: 9:00 a.m.
- Races Start: shortly after the opening ceremony
- Lunch and Award Ceremony: following the last race
- Pau: 12:30 p.m.
Each participant (guardian) must complete a HI-PAL permission/release form. For more information and to obtain the necessary forms, please contact Officer Leonard Warren of Kona Community Policing at leonard.warren@hawaiicounty.gov.
