Police Holding First Annual Diaper Drive in Kona Oct. 3

The Hawaii Police Department’s Kona Community Policing Section, in partnership with Kona Walmart, and LIV Pregnancy & Women’s Wellness, is pleased to announce the upcoming First Annual Fill A Cruiser Diaper Drive on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the entrance of the Kona Walmart.

The Diaper Drive’s goal is to support Hawai‘i Island families in need by providing essential diapers and toddler pull-ups to families who may be experiencing financial hardship. Diaper donations collected during the event will be distributed to LIV Pregnancy & Women’s Wellness, a nonprofit organization with three locations island-wide. The LIV Pregnancy & Women’s Wellness will in turn distribute the diapers to help relieve the severe financial strain for families who cannot afford to purchase baby supplies.

A blue-and-white marked police cruiser will be stationed at the store entrance. Members of the public are encouraged to donate baby diapers, toddler pull ups, and baby wipes in hopes of filling a police cruiser to capacity with donated items. 

All donated items and monetary contributions will be then distributed by LIV Pregnancy & Women’s Wellness to individuals and families in need throughout Hawai‘i Island. 

The cost of diapers and other basic baby supplies can place a significant financial burden on parents, especially for families already struggling to meet everyday expenses. By collecting and providing these essential items, we hope to ensure that keiki have the supplies they need to stay clean, healthy, and comfortable.
