The Hawaiʻi Police Department’s South Hilo Community Policing Section would like to thank Vibrant Hawaiʻi for coordinating the 2026 Kaukau 4 Keiki Summer Meal Program and for its continued partnership with the department.

From June 15 through July 24, 2026, South Hilo Community Policing officers partnered with Vibrant Hawaiʻi at its Dream Hawaiʻi Studios location to package and distribute more than 400 bags of food each week to local families.

The Hawaiʻi Police Department extends a special mahalo to Maurice Messina, chief operating officer of Vibrant Hawaiʻi, and everyone who helped make the program possible. Partnerships such as this allow law enforcement and community organizations to work together to support local families and make a positive difference in our community.

The Hawaiʻi Police Department’s Community Policing Section is committed to building strong partnerships through community programs and events. Community organizations interested in partnering with the department or hosting a community event are encouraged to contact the Hilo Community Policing Section at (808) 961-8849.
