1st Annual Fill A Cruiser Back-To-School Supply Drive

The Hawaii Police Department’s Kona Community Policing Section will be holding its 1st Annual “Fill a Cruiser” Back‑to‑School Supplies Drive on Saturday, July 18, from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the entrance of the Kona Walmart.

This community event is being conducted in partnership with Catholic Charities (Kona Branch) and Aloha M.A.P. (Mauritius Achievement Programs). Both organizations work closely with West Hawai’i schools and provide much‑needed support to disadvantaged families and keiki, ensuring that all donated items are distributed to those most in need within our community.

A marked Hawaii Police Department SUV will be stationed at the Walmart entrance/exit. Community members are encouraged to donate any type of back‑to‑school supplies, including items such as:

• Paper
• Pencils and pens
• Notebooks
• Backpacks
• Reusable water bottles

All school supply donations will be accepted.

Hawaii Police Department officers will be on site to collect donations and load them into the police SUV as part of the “Fill a Cruiser” effort. Officers will also be available to meet, greet, and engage with members of the community.

The Kona Police Station, located at 74‑611 Hale Makai Pl., Kailua‑Kona, Hawai’i, will also be accepting back‑to‑school supply donations prior to the event.
