Police Searching for Missing Elderly Man in Keauhou

Hawaiʻi Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 88-year-old James Gramlich, who was reported missing from the Keauhou area.

Gramlich was last seen during the early morning hours of Wednesday, May 20, 2026, at a residence on Maliko Street in Keauhou wearing dark checkered boxer shorts and no shoes.

Police believe Gramlich may have left the residence in a white 1996 Chevrolet Silverado single-cab pickup truck bearing Hawaiʻi license plate ZKH 890. The vehicle has reportedly been missing since at least 5:30 a.m.

Gramlich is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 235 pounds, and bald.

Police ask anyone with information regarding Gramlich’s whereabouts to call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.
