Police Seeking Endangered Runaway Kymahni Mata

Hawai’i Island police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 13-year-old Kymahni Mata, who was reported as a runaway. Due to his age, Mata is considered endangered.

Mata was last seen leaving a residence within the 300 block of Desha Avenue in the Keaukaha area of Hilo on Tuesday, March 17, 2026,  wearing a black hoodie with the “Nike” logo on the front, red shorts, and black shoes.

He is described as being local / Hawaiian with a medium complexion, 4 feet tall, 70 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.

Police ask anyone with information on Mata’s whereabouts to please call the police department’s non-emergency line at (808) 935-3311.
