Officer Jenna Kosinski-Santos Named Ka‘ū Officer of the Quarter

For her exceptional dedication, proactive enforcement, and leadership in the Ka‘ū District, Officer Jenna Kosinski-Santos was recognized as the Ka‘ū Officer of the Quarter during a ceremony at the Nā‘ālehu Community Center on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025.
Assigned to the Ka‘ū District since June 2021, Officer Kosinski-Santos has consistently demonstrated initiative, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to community safety. Known for her strong work ethic and in-depth understanding of offender behavior, she begins each day by reviewing dispatch logs and case reports, maintaining personal notes on wanted subjects, and focusing patrols on high-crime areas based on offender patterns. Her proactive approach has resulted in numerous arrests and the successful resolution of multiple cases.
Among her recent accomplishments, Officer Kosinski-Santos has arrested multiple wanted individuals, including suspects involved in outstanding warrants, property crimes, and weapons offenses. In one case, she identified and arrested a male suspect linked to a recent burglary, recovering live ammunition and coordinating felony charges with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney. Her ability to assess evolving situations quickly and act decisively has made her an invaluable asset to the district.
In addition to her strong field performance, Officer Kosinski-Santos continually inspires her peers through her leadership by example, fostering morale and teamwork within the Ka‘ū Patrol Division.
“She’s a pro-active officer who has a gift of motivating those around her,” said Ka‘ū District Acting Captain Pernell Hanoa. He pointed out this is not the first time Officer Kosinski-Santos has been honored for her hard work. She was previously named Ka‘ū Top Enforcer for 2023 and received the Hawaiʻi County Council Haweo award in May 2022 for rescuing an elderly man trapped in a vehicle. The Kona Crime Prevention Committee named her Officer of the Month in December 2020 for responding to a fatal traffic collision while off duty.
