The tournament drew 32 teams from both Hawai‘i Island and off-island, creating an exciting weekend of competitive play. The event was organized by Community Policing Officer Darren Abalos in coordination with former Police Major Randy Apele. Endless Summers HI-PAL Basketball Tournament results:
- High School Boys Champions: Team Ikehu
- Intermediate Girls Champions: Team Westside
- Elementary Girl Champions: Team Kona Stingrays

“The participants were excited to play in this yearly tournament, which featured a large number of teams per bracket,” said Officer Abalos. “They really enjoyed the chance to compete against teams from across the state in a spirit of friendly competition.”
HI-PAL is a program of the Hawai‘i Police Department in which officers interact with youth through sports and other activities while serving as mentors. The program encourages teamwork, citizenship, and responsibility while strengthening trust between youth and law enforcement.
